Create your own truth for free.
Make words and gestures your own, embody radio news in your own image, and help spread information without verification.
A truly sensory and immersive experience, RADIOMATON questions the construction of truth, media contamination, “fake news” and the role of the body in the perception of information.
Installed in an individual photo booth and equipped with headphones broadcasting a local radio station, each RADIOMATON user must repeat aloud the words he or she hears, while repeating gestures whispered to them from a remote control. Their filmed performance, mixing movements and words that don’t belong to them, is remixed in a video kaleidoscope where all the senses intertwine.
Codesign by Marie Béland and Simon Laroche
A co-production by MARIBÉ – SORS DE CE CORPS and MONTRÉAL DANSE
The installation was conceived as an experience to be enjoyed in autumn or as an echo to the BESIDE show.
