Mascarades brings together six female performers in a huis clos inspired by the codes of cinema and painting. The set, a mix of furniture and objects, recreates the fictitious rooms of a mansion. One scene follows another, capturing portraits of women. In a pure movement, imbued with modesty, they depict the beings and dramas whose secrets they carry. Fragile yet strong, they give themselves over to a delicate enigma tinged with guilt, pretence and disappearance.
