The Ogre, The Phoenix and the Faithful Friend<\/i><\/b>\u00a0unites Lebanese-Canadian performer Charlie Prince and Lebanese multimedia artist Tarek Chemaly around questions of historical amnesia, healing, recognition and resilience. Charlie Prince interacts with and transforms an installation composed of suspended coloured panels, on which Tarek Chemaly\u2019s videos are projected, whose assemblage of images from Lebanese pop-culture evokes the period of conflicts that shook the country over several decades. The performance thus reveals the process of creating identity while revisiting the notion of collective (un)conscious and the politics of gaze.<\/p>\n
