Aliens is a live art piece featuring two performers and several avatars. On stage, they are controlled by software that generates a choreographic and behavioral score. Sound devices, everyday objects and virtual ones are scattered throughout the space and manipulated. This hybrid scenography is not, however, directly visible; floating, it is merely a tool enabling the performers to modulate the way they inhabit their bodies on stage, and to engage in behaviors that have no obvious purpose, that are not echoed in the audience’s perception, and that are as free as possible from any pre-determined semantic value by moving away from formalized, codified gestures.
