A lively event showcasing works in dance, performance and conceptual art, offering an alternative space to highlight the richness of our practices. Move OFF aims to provide artists with a space for encounters, uninhibited creativity and the circulation of artistic works.
Inspired by the spirit of the Phoque OFF festival/conference, the Move OFF team imagines a complement to RIDEAU’s showcases, showing the range of possibilities and nurturing a discourse around dance practices and approaches in Quebec.
This second edition of Move OFF on February 18, 2025 at 11pm will take place at La Charpente des Fauves in Quebec City’s Lower Town.
6 5-minute slots will be allocated to selected artists. The 5 minutes can be a dance, a pitch or a presentation of approach around a work or project that is finished and ready for broadcast.
Selection process :
- With no artistic direction, the Move OFF team’s selection process is guided by a desire for territorial representativeness;
- Projects will be separated into three categories: Montreal, Quebec and regional;
- A draw will be made to ensure that these three categories are representative of the number of submissions received. (The aim is to ensure that these three categories are as representative as possible);
- The artist must have a minimum of two years’ experience as a professional artist in the performing arts.
At your disposal :
A 500-square-foot stage space in a black box with black-painted hardwood floor, general lighting and sound system, microphone and stand, projector.
For submission:
- Artistic approach behind the project presented (max 250 words);
- Project details (title, duration, team, etc.);
- Choice of pitch or excerpt/demonstration;
- Place of work/residence in Quebec (to ensure territorial representativeness);
- CV (maximum 2 pages)
